A Metamorphosizing World

hope i spelled that title right....

Everyone speaks of the world we live in. Which world is it though, the one we were given, or
the one we created? People, especially teenagers, grow up physically living on the earth they were born on, yet spend much of their time in the virtual world created by humans, the internet. From this change in environment came a splitting, altering way we learn and grow. The anonymous nature the internet gives the human persona allows a person to be who they are on the inside less stressful. To people they otherwise would never meet, they can befriend them without any human prejudices that were prevalent in past ages. Though many issues persist, people have changed and adapted to a world that for good or bad orbits around the two interacting worlds of humans.

Mask on the Face of Death

This story was interesting yet somewhat depressing to read. I liked how the author started with the scene of talking to the Haiti prostitutes(i think they are). This showed how they were ignorant of the truth of AIDS or just refused to consider it. From the similar visits to each hospital and some hotels i could feel the hopelessness of the practitioners. It reminded me of Singer's view from unspeakable conversations that those who wished to die or babies with terminal/degeneration illness could be put down. The doctors and nurses from the hospitals stopped receiving patients because they could do nothing. The population was just to be left to die out until no more infected remained.
